Sea Stack and Black Beach

Vik is a small fishing village on the South Coast of Iceland, located on the Ring Road between the towns of Vík í Mýrdal and Höfn. The iconic Sea Stack and Black Beach of Vik make the perfect destination for photographers and travelers alike. The stacks are near the mainland, and the black sand beach is just a short hike away. The waves crash against the basalt columns and the strong contrast between the dark sand and powerful surf are incredible to witness. The sea stacks are also home to several bird species, making them wonderful to observe as they nest in their rocky surfaces. Don't forget to take a camera and be sure to wear waterproof shoes!
