Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel

Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel is one of the oldest religious structures in Montréal, Canada. It is a beautiful National Historic Site and is renowned for its rich history and its well-preserved architecture. It was built in 1771 with a Baroque-style bell shaped tower, and adorned with colorful frescoes made by artist Lionel-Édouard Betts. The chapel is located atop the highest point of the old City of Montréal and provides a great view of the city and the St. Lawrence River. It is one of the few remaining chapels in Montréal and is a popular tourist attraction. Inside the chapel, visitors can find interesting religious statues, paintings and artifacts, as well as memorials to the earliest pioneers of the region. While visiting the chapel, visitors can take part in the weekly mass and light a candle for their loved ones.
