Monasterio de Sant Pere de Rodes

The Monasterio de Sant Pere de Rodes is a 9th-century Benedictine monastery in Catalonia, Spain. It has a great vantage point, being perched atop a rocky peak and offering incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea. The original building dates back to the 900s, however most of what stands today was built in the 16th-century, following the Gothic and Renaissance styles of architecture. It is one of the most stunning examples of religious architecture in the region and designated a Historical National Monument. Inside the complex, visitors will find two churches, cloisters and other rooms, housing an impressive collection of artifacts. It is also a popular destination for climbers and hikers wanting to ascend to the top.
