Dan Bartolomeo di Reno

Dan Bartolomeo di Reno is a beautiful church located in the centre of Bologna, Italy. Built in the 10th century and dedicated to St John the Baptist, the church is an example of Romanesque architecture. The exterior is characterized by an elegant three-level façade with a statue of St John on the main portal. The bell tower dates back to the 13th century and is adorned with a series of coloured tiles. Inside, the church has a magnificent 13th century fresco cycle, as well as terracotta and stucco works by Maurizio and Agostino della Robbia. It is a beautiful example of ancient churches in Bologna and is definitely well worth a visit.
