Carmelite Church

The Carmelite Church in Valletta, Malta is an example of Baroque architecture. Built in 1637, the church displays a rich, golden interior. The entrance is surrounded by a latticed wrought iron balcony from which visitors can enjoy seeing the church and the surrounding area in all its glory. The colourful ceiling and very tall main altar add to the beauty of the interior. Other features include multiple side altars, robust Corinthian columns and impressive frescos painted by renowned Baroque artist Mattia Preti.
