Hotel de Ville

Hotel de Ville, located in the center of Paris, France, is the main administrative building for the City of Paris. Since 1357 it has been the home of the Mayor of Paris and is used for ceremonial events, receptions and city council functions. The building itself is a classic example of French Renaissance architecture, classically styled and lavishly decorated with statues, fountains, and ornate interiors. The main courtyard of the building has a glorious fountain, while within are grand ceremonial chambers and at least four distinct museums which exhibit artifacts and artwork connected to the history of Paris. During the day, visitors can enjoy the wonderful gardens which surround the building, or pass the time in the famous flower market nearby. Parisians often gather in the courtyard for festivals or to enjoy the fine weather on a summer day. The interior of the building can be visited on certain days through guided tours. Hotel de Ville is an amazing place to experience a stunning building in the very heart of Paris.
