Emstrur-Botnar Hut

The Emstrur-Botnar Hut is a cozy mountain hut situated in the beautiful Icelandic countryside. Located in the tight valley of Valldalur, the hut is surrounded by a vast expanse of mountains, glaciers, and rivers. Reaching the hut involves a hike up to the Valldalur valley head, which makes the journey all the more rewarding when you arrive and rest your feet. Despite its remote location, the hut has plenty of amenities, including beds, a kitchen, firewood, and a stove space. There are no showers, however, so plan accordingly. The view from the hut is stunning and there are plenty of serene, photogenic locations nearby. It's also a great place to take a break during a road trip along the Southern Coast of Iceland.
