The Convento da Peninha is an ancient 16th-century monastery in the Colares region of Portugal. Located on top of a hill and surrounded by lush, green nature, the site offers a stunning view of the Sintra mountain range as well as the Atlantic coast. The site includes a chapel, hermitage and aqueduct, as well as the remains of the old convent. The chapel remains the best-preserved of all the structures and still holds services. The aqueduct, believed to be a Roman construction, is a long system of terraces along the hillside, providing a great way to explore the region.
