Bank of China Tower

The Bank of China Tower is located in Central, the main business district of Hong Kong. It is one of the city's iconic structures and is the fourth tallest skyscraper in Hong Kong. Designed by Chinese-American architect I. M. Pei and completed in 1990, the 72-storey building is renowned for being the first building in Hong Kong to exceed the limit of the Height Restriction Ordinance (198 m). Moreover, the building was the first skyscraper outside the US to break into the marketplace of the world’s tallest buildings. Its spiraling, double-hulled design has also made it an architectural landmark in the city's skyline. In the tower, you'll find a retail complex with shops and food courts, several office spaces and the Hong Kong branch of the Bank of China, which occupies the lower half of the building. It is also one of the most photographed sites in Hong Kong.
