Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty, in New York, United States of America, is an iconic and imposing landmark that stands as a national symbol of freedom. It was a gift from the people of France to the United States, and was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Standing at 93 meters tall, the Statue of Liberty has two distinct parts: a statue of the Roman goddess, Libertas, holding a torch and a book; and a metal framework designed by Gustave Eiffel. Visitors can enter the pedestal of the statue and enjoy several exhibitions and the stunning panoramic views of the harbour and Manhattan Skyline. The site also has a museum which gives visitors an insight into the construction and history of the statue. Access to the crown is available with a separate ticket. Getting around is best by climbing the 354 steps and enjoying the journey.
