Sjónarhorn

Sjónarhorn in Iceland is an easily accessible, spectacular viewpoint located atop a mountain called Helgafell. From there, hikers can soak in amazing views of the entire Reykjanes peninsula. This is where you can take in the vast expanse of a wild and dramatic mountain range, and observe nearby coastline featuring jagged cliffs, extinct volcanoes, and magnificent waterfalls. Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, can also be seen on the horizon. The best way to get to Sjónarhorn is to drive from Reykjavik to the town of Vogar, and the obvious trailhead from there makes it easy to get to the summit. Be sure to pack plenty of warm layers and waterproof gear!
