אמת המים הרומית של קיסריה ניצבת לצד הים התיכון, מצפון לעיר הנמל העתיקה. קשתות האבן שלה חוצות את החול בחוף האקוודוקט. המערכת הובילה מים מתוקים ממעיינות סמוך למורדות הדרומיים של הר הכרמל, בשיפוע מתון, אל קיסריה מריטימה — הנמל שפיתח הורדוס הגדול. תוספות מאוחרות, ובהן תעלה מקבילה, משקפות את הגידול בצורכי המים של העיר בתקופה הרומית. המבנה החשוף ממחיש את ההנדסה: תעלת מים מוגבהת הנתמכת בקשתות חוזרות לאורך מישור החוף. אבני הבנייה הבהירות והבלויות ממסגרות את הים והשמיים, והנוף לאורך החוף חושף את הצללית הארוכה והנמוכה של המבנה.
