Porto da Cruz

Porto da Cruz is a small coastal fishing village on the north east coast of Madeira, Portugal. The small harbor is flanked by mountain peaks and laidback bars. From the village, you can take a cable car that leads to the 1,584m summit of 'Pico do Areeiro', with stunning views over the island. Miradouro Furna do Porto da Cruz is a viewpoint near the harbor, with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean.

As one of the most sought-after destinations in the Madeira Archipelago, the village has many attractions. Surfing and boat trips to nearby islands are popular with visitors, while a visit to the nearby wine lodges allows you to sample the local Madeira wine. There is also a local museum dedicated to the history of the island, as well as plenty of other shops and bars to keep you busy.
