Palacio de Cibeles

The Palacio de Cibeles is a magnificent building in Madrid, Spain, located in the city center. Built in 1777, the palace was originally a post office. It was later converted into the headquarters of the city's Department of Communications and Transport. Today, the palace is a venue for Madrid City Hall’s many official events and meetings. It is a popular destination for tourists, who come to admire its grand architecture, view the large clock adorning its façade, and marvel at the four reliefs decorating the square in front of it. The palace is also home to various art exhibitions and concerts throughout the year. From its balconies, visitors can admire stunning views of Paseo del Prado, Buen Retiro Park, and the majestic fountain of Cybele – for which the palace is named.
