Palace of Culture and Science

The Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, Poland, is a reputation-defining structure and symbol of the city. It was built in the 1950s as a “gift” from Joseph Stalin to the people of Poland. Standing at over 230 meters tall, it is the tallest building in Poland and the 8th tallest building in the EU. The interior of the building is home to three movie theaters, a swimming pool, several museums, and a selection of shops. It also houses the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Warsaw University Library. From the top of the building tourists can take in a 360 degree view of the city. On the 31st floor of the Palace there is an exclusive restaurant accessible by elevator. This is one of the most popular destinations in Warsaw for photographers.
