Oberhofen Castle

Oberhofen Castle is a medieval castle located in the commune of Oberhofen am Thunersee in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland. Built in the 13th century, the castle is situated on its own islet in the waters of Lake Thun and is surrounded by two courtyards and a wall. The castle's outer curtain walls have been conserved in their original state and the castle with its three towers is considered an important example of medieval architecture. Today it is home to the Museum of Oberhofen, where the history and culture of the commune are presented, showcasing the comital history of the castle, its residents, and the paintings of Konrad Kurz. The castle also organizes concerts and guided tours are available by appointment.
