Mirador al Chaltén

The Mirador al Chaltén & Cañadon Rio de las Vueltas hiking trail is located in Lago Argentino, Argentina, near the Los Glaciares National Park. It is one of the most popular trails in the area and offers breathtaking views of the majestic peaks of Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre and the Andes Mountains, as well as access to beautiful waterfalls, valleys, and views of Lago Argentino. The trail is also a great spot for wildlife viewing, with the flora and fauna of the area being especially diverse. The hike begins at the entrance to Apagao viewpoint, where the view of the hanging glaciers is a sight to behold. From here, the trail ascends steeply up to the Cordón Adela viewpoint, which offers an even more spectacular view of the glaciers and surrounding valley. After descending down to the stream, the trail follows the Rio de las Vueltas through the valley, past numerous cascades, until it reaches the Mirador al Chaltén. The mountainous terrain makes the hike challenging in some sections, however, the breathtaking scenery makes it worth every step!
