La Estatua del Niño Pez

La Estatua del Niño Pez, also known as the Child Fish Statue, is a popular monument in the city of Santander, Spain. Located on the Mount Carbello, it overlooks the entrance to the Port of Santander, where you can get stunning views of the estuary. It stands at a height of 32m, with the figure of a sailor boy in its center. The monument was inaugurated in 1931 as a tribute to the sailors who gave their lives during the War of Independence. Although the original monument was destroyed in 1936, it was later rebuilt to commemorate the reestablishment of democracy in Spain.
