Fjaðrárgljúfur

Fjaðrárgljúfur is a canyon in the south of Iceland. This stunning canyon is about two kilometres long and up to 100 metres deep. It is located near the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, south of the Vatnajökull glacier. Fjaðrárgljúfur has many beautiful features, such as high walls of basalt, a river that runs through the canyon and a small waterfall at the end, making it a great spot for exploration and photography. Take a walk alongside the river below the steep canyon walls, or venture to the waterfall and back, surrounded by the rapids of the river and the high basalt walls. The surrounding landscape is also breathtaking and offers versatile landscapes for photography. On a clear day, visitors can capture the golden hour and a magnificent rainbow!
