Castelvecchio Museum

The Castelvecchio Museum is a museum located in Verona, Italy. It holds an extensive collection of medieval and Renaissance art and sculptures, including works by such renowned artists as Jacopo and Girolamo Bellini, Sano di Pietro, Andrea Mantegna, Niccolo dell' Abbate, Paolo Veronese, Antonio Canova, and Giambattista Tiepolo. The museum itself is housed in the Castelvecchio, a medieval red brick castle located on the south side of the Adige River in the centre of Verona. The castle dates from the 14th century, and the museum exhibits the construction history of the castle alongside its artworks. Inside, there are also numerous frescoes and statues, along with a few other historical artifacts. There are frequent events and guided tours, including the opportunity to tour the castle's interior spaces. It is open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday.
