Capilla de Mármol

Capilla de Mármol is a stunningly beautiful part of the General Carrera Lake in Chile. It is located in the small town of Puerto Río Tranquilo, at the base of the Andes Mountains. The distinctive feature of this part of the lake is the unique marble formations that have created magnificent shapes along the shoreline. The vibrant colors of the marble structures vary from white and pink to green and blue, making it an amazing photographic spot. There are lots of creeks and canals around, as well as several nearby glaciers where you can spot sea lions, birds and other wildlife. Visitors to Capilla de Mármol can take kayaking trips around the lake for spectacular views of the landscape and to explore the area. Nearby towns also offer plenty of activities, from horseback riding to trekking. The drive to the lake from Puerto Río Tranquilo is an incredible journey through the gorgeous valleys, rivers and mountains of Patagonia.
