Basilica in San Marino

The Basilica of San Marino is located in the Republic of San Marino and is a beautiful example of a Romanesque-Gothic style church. The basilica was built between the 13th and 15th centuries, and sits on a hill looking out to the coast. Its interior features a 14th century hexagonal baptismal font, frescos, ornately carved pillars, plus 17th and 18th century oil paintings. The building also contains the tomb of Marianne of Austria and an exhibition related to the history of the San Marino Republic. The view from the basilica is breathtaking, looking out across the city below and the surrounding landscape. It’s definitely something to be seen if you’re visiting San Marino!
