Bada Bagh

Bada Bagh is a historical monument located in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, India. It's full name is 'Bada Bagh Jaisalmer', and it is located some 6 km away from the city of Jaisalmer. Built between the years 1589 to 1745 CE, it is an important example of 16th century architecture and style.

The Bada Bagh consists of several structures, including cenotaphs or 'chhatris', displaying the grandiose lifestyle of the local rulers. These structures are adorned with intricate carved designs, paintings, motifs and excellent stone carvings, adding to the majestic beauty of the place. It is believed that this complex was created in honor of the royal family members who have passed away. It is believed that the cenotaphs commemorate the great warrior of this dynasty, Maharaja Rudra Singh. It's a great place to explore and take photos.
