Álftavatn lake

Álftavatn Lake is a picturesque lake located in the east of the Icelandic Highlands, close to the municipality of Snæfell. With its stunning views, fantastic wildlife and vibrant colors, Álftavatn Lake is one of the most beautiful nature sites in all of Iceland. Álftavatn Lake consists of two separate lakes, with the larger of the two being around 1,6 km wide. It is also fed by several small rivers that flow out of the lake.
