Yick Fat Building
📍 Hong Kong
Monster Building, also known as "Yick Cheong Building" in Cantonese, is a complex of five interconnected residential buildings located in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong. It is a popular spot among photo-travelers due to its unique and colorful architecture, which resembles a giant monster when viewed from certain angles. Built in the 1960s, the buildings were originally intended as public housing, but now serve as private residential units. It is recommended to visit the place during the golden hour or at night, as the vibrant colors of the buildings are accentuated by the sunlight or city lights. Keep in mind that the buildings are still occupied by residents, so it is important to be respectful and not disturb them while taking photos. Additionally, the area can get quite crowded, so it is best to arrive early or during weekdays for a better photo-taking experience.
