📍 Från Sandbakkin Street, Faroe Islands
Tjørnuvík Church is a small red-painted wooden chapel that stands in the Faroe Islands village of the same name on the island of Streymoy. Built in 1846, the chapel is a popular tourist destination due to its unique architecture and its scenic location. The chapel has white-washed walls, an organ, benches, and a small bell tower. Visitors can also find a statue of St. Gudmund, patron saint of the Faroes, in front of the chapel. The chapel offers stunning coastal views, as well as views of the nearby Mykines island. The unique location of Tjørnuvík Church makes it one of the best places in the Faroe Islands to experience the islands’ idyllic nature. Visitors can enjoy its picturesque beauty, tranquil atmosphere, and peaceful surroundings. It is also worth noting that the chapel is only accessible by foot, making it a great place to walk and take in the views.
