The Suspension Bridge (or Duck Reach Power Station) in Trevallyn, Australia, is a stunning bridge that is now a popular tourist destination. It was built in 1890 as the home of a hydroelectric power station and was believed to be the first of its kind in Australia. It’s a two-span iron lattice truss bridge with a central span of 78m and an overall length of 91m. Its iconic red iron lattice towers are a sight to behold and make for great photos. The bridge is a popular spot for picnics, walking, cycling and fishing, offering visitors panoramic views of the river and surrounding bushland. While exploring the area, don’t forget to check out the on-site museum. This fascinating little museum showcases the history of the power station, as well as the local community and its connection to the hydro-electric scheme.
