Neptune Fountain and Schönbrunn Palace
📍 Austria
The Neptune Fountain and Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria, form an iconic part of the city’s cultural landscape. The Neptune Fountain is a towering two-tiered white marble fountain, sculpted by Georg Raphael Donner in the 18th century, and depicting the Roman sea god Triton. It is surrounded by four sculptures featuring four legendary Triton battles. The Schönbrunn Palace, one of the most important baroque buildings in Vienna, is about a 10-minute walk from the Fountain. Built in the 17th century, it was designed by the court architects Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and Nicolaus Pacassi and has around 1,441 rooms, courtyards, and gardens. It's the former summer residence of the Habsburgs and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visiting the two sites together makes for an unforgettable day out and a great photo opportunity.
