Nemrut Dagi

Nemrut Dagi is a mountain in Turkey located near the village of Kayadibi. It is the home of the ancient city of Commagene, whose ruins are still visible today. Visitors can explore the ruins of the city, which were once home to kings, as well as its stunning array of monumental statues. On the summit of the mountain is a tumulus, or burial mound, of Antiochus I Theos, the first ruler of the Commagene dynasty. It is filled with intricately carved stone sculptures that commemorate the man and his dynasty. The sculptures are particularly awe-inspiring at the sunrise and sunset. Adventure seekers can also take a guided trek to the top of the mountain and explore a nearby lake.
