Nachi Falls

Nachi Falls is an awe-inspiring natural wonder, located in Nachikatsuura, Japan. This spectacular waterfall plunges into the depths of the Katsuura River, with a total drop of 420 feet (128 meters). You can view Nachi Falls from the observation platform and stroll through the area while you take in the stunning scenery. Surrounding the falls are the sacred mountains, Koyasan and Kongobuji Temple, making it a spiritual and special place to visit. There is a small shrine which is situated on a natural bridge that crosses the Nachi River, offering a unique photo opportunity. For another visitor experience, Kumano Nachi Taisha Grand Shrine is a short walk away, and makes for a great day trip if you have the time. Afterwards, those looking for a more active adventure can hike to the many viewing points of the falls, of which the most popular is Senjudo.
