The Rotunda of Mosta, commonly known as the Mosta Dome, is an impressive example of a Neoclassical church located in Mosta, Malta. It is well known for a story of courage during World War II, when a bomb passed through the dome, yet failed to explode. The task of carrying this bomb was executed bravely by a group of volunteers who are called National Guard. Today, the Rotunda is a major tourist attraction, and its large ground makes it perfect for an event or a peaceful stroll. The exterior of the building features a three-tiered bell tower, while the interior reveals an impressive grand domed hall with a number of vibrant frescos. This lovely Rotunda is visited by hundreds of tourists yearly, and is a place of great significance as its dome is the third biggest unsupported dome in Europe.
