The Library of Celsus in Selçuk, Turkey, is an ancient Roman structure renowned for its grandeur. Intended to house 12,000 scrolls of parchment, it stands 38 meters tall and is considered one of the finest examples of its kind. Built during the reign of Emperor Hadrian in the early 2nd century AD, it is also one of the most visited places in the ancient city. Its façade bears an inscription dedicated to the Roman Senator Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, who initiated its construction. The impressive doors, flanked by two female figures representing wisdom and knowledge, are especially worth noting.
