Kirifurino Falls

Kirifurino Falls is a stunning one-of-a-kind waterfall located in Nikko, Japan. Approximately 15 metres tall and 25 metres wide, the pretty multi-level waterfall was created from water that had been accumulating upstream from the Kirifuri River. The river has been diverted and the path of the water has been altered numerous times over the years, changing the falls from an even flow of water to a crow-shaped multiple drop of water. Hiking through the mountains to reach the falls is an amazing experience, as you can admire stunning views of the landscape as you get to the falls. The lush greenery surrounding the waterfall makes it even more attractive as a tourist spot. To reach the falls you must take a bus from Dosojin-mura or Nikko Station to Kirifurino-kaido-stop, then a short hike of around 20minutes. It's certainly worth a visit!
