Gur Emir - Amir Temur Mausoleum

Gur Emir - Amir Temur Mausoleum, located in Samarqand, Uzbekistan, is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture and the spiritual core of the Silk Road. Constructed in 1404 to honour the Central Asian conqueror Timur (also known as Tamerlane), it was later transformed into a mausoleum for his family. Its interior is lavishly decorated with majolica and Quranic inscriptions and includes the ornamental tombs of his descendants. The most spectacular part of the mausoleum is the huge, intricately tiled archway at its entrance, surmounted by 4 glittering golden domes. You can also visit the Trapeznaya Gallery nearby, home to a fascinating collection of artifacts and precious stones. Do not forget to admire the glorious blue-tiled minarets and domes that form a skyline filled with the ancient call to prayer!
