Donner Summit Bridge

The Donner Summit Bridge is one of the iconic photo destinations in Truckee, California, renowned for its dramatic landscapes and laid back atmosphere. The steel arch bridge spans 1,241 feet across Donner Lake, acting as a gateway between the Sierra Nevada and the greater Lake Tahoe area. From the bridge, visitors can take in fantastic views of Donner Lake, the surrounding mountain range, as well as the historic railroad tunnel. A short trail leads from the bridge to the nearby Lookout Point which offers a great panorama of the area. Access to the bridge is provided by an easy access pullout off the Interstate 80. So be sure to make a stop when you’re in the area and don’t forget your camera!
