Cuetzalan cityscape

Cuetzalan is a picturesque little mountain town in the north of Puebla Mexico. It has been declared one of the Magical Towns of Mexico due to its pre-hispanic culture, dense jungle and incredible views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The town is divided into two parts: the lower city and the upper city, each providing a unique experience. The lower city is where most of the action takes place, with its cobblestone streets and traditional houses adorned with colorful decorations. Visitors can stroll through the narrow streets, take in the traditional colors and architecture, explore the dozens of artisans shops and get a taste of a vibrant atmosphere.

For a truly amazing experience, a visit to the upper city is a must. Here, at the top of the mountain, one can admire breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada mountains, behold panoramic views of the landscape, explore the ruins of a nearby ancient pyramid and the town’s church. On certain days, visitors can also enjoy traditional dances at the town’s central plaza. At night, one can gaze at the stars and the Milky Way, while contemplating the peace and beauty of Cuetzalan’s streets.
