Church of Saint Anthony

The Church of Saint Anthony is the main religious landmark of the town of Nazaré in Portugal. It is widely regarded for its beauty and affordability and the incredible sunsets that can be seen from its rooftop. The church, constructed in the Manueline-style – an ornate, Portuguese-gothic architectural style – has been a location of Catholic worship since the Middle Ages. It also served as a lighthouse beacon in the 1500s and makes for a great photo spot. Inside the church is a museum which holds an array of artworks from the Lisbon school of painting. The Church of Saint Anthony encourages donations and it is also home to a popular restaurant and bar, making it a great stop for a nice meal and something to drink.
