Cathédrale de Monaco

The stunning Cathédrale de Monaco is the most important monument of the tiny but upscale principality of Monaco. The gothic-style church was built in 1875 and is the home church of the Grimaldi royal family. Its most notable feature is the magnificent cloister which is decorated with exquisite sculptures and stained-glass windows. Inside the cathedral, visitors can admire the ornate marble carvings, the detailed frescoes and the grand organ. For a spectacular view, there are two observation decks on the roof. There is also a crypt and a treasury. Guided tours of the architectural marvel are available. The Cathédrale de Monaco is open to visitors almost every day.
