Cataloochee Valley

Cataloochee Valley, located in Waynesville, United States, is a majestic valley located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Surrounded by lush, lush forest and tranqil beauty, Cataloochee Valley is one of the most beautiful places in the Appalachians.Home to some of the greatest wildlife, especially the Elk and White-tailed Deer found in the Cataloochee Valley, it is one of the most popular and accessible places to witness the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. It is also home to historic structures, such as the Palmer House, which is a relic of the early Appalachian settlers.

From scenic hikes in and around the valley, to picnicking in the lush meadows, to spotting wildlife, this is a great place to spend a day in the wild. However, it can be a dangerous place if you’re not prepared or if you don’t familiarize yourself with the terrain and wildlife. Be sure to adhere to all park regulations and come prepared with the proper gear, especially if you plan to explore further.
