Kinderdijk is an iconic destination in the Netherland's province of South Holland. It is home to 19 awe-inspiring 18th century Dutch windmills, all of which are adorned with brick detailing, straw roofs, and giant sails. Most of the windmills have been restored and are open for exploration. Few visitors can resist playing ‘captain of the windmill’ and experiencing what it might’ve been like to actually run one. There are also several canal-side cafes, shops, and a historic house in the region, where you can learn more about the area’s rich cultural heritage. Make sure to take a stroll to get the full experience of Kinderdijk.
