Vicolo Buio, or the dark alley, is an old, cobblestone lane lined with ivy-covered walls and located in the city of Cortona, Italy. This beautifully romantic street was used as a set piece for the Hollywood movie "Under the Tuscan Sun". Measuring only 53 meters in length, this narrow alley provides a perfect example of the sorts of charming, winding cobblestone passageways that typify Italian city centers. At each end of the alley are iron gates for a more private feel, and shutters on the doors or windows of the homes along the alley make for an additional air of mystery as one wanders down this romantic Cortona lane.
