Stone Bridge - From City Square, North Macedonia
Stony Bridge is a bridge located in the center of Skopje, North Macedonia, near the Stone Bridge River. This historic stone bridge dates back to the Ottoman era and it is said to be one of the oldest bridges in the country. The bridge has four arches, with the central arch being the largest, and is crenelated on the walls which are coated in light stone. The sides of the bridge have gunlocks and parapets which were originally built in order to protect it from enemy attackers. The bridge acts as a popular spot for tourists to take scenic walks and take in the beauty of Skopje.
