Shamordino is a village located near the church of Tserkov' Amvrosiya Optinskogo in Shamordinskiy Rayon, Tver, Russia. It is situated on the Oka River and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Shamordino”. The buildings, landscapes, and sights of the village create an unforgettable atmosphere of traditional Russian life. The wooden buildings, churches, and bridges make the village look like a typical Russian fairy-tale village. Tserkov' Amvrosiya Optinskogo is an impressive church on the main road, built in the 16th century and completely renovated in the 18th century. The frescos and icons inside the church are the main attraction of the building. A botanic garden is located just outside the village. This garden showcases the various flowers, plants, and trees that grow in the area and is a great place to take a leisurely stroll while soaking in the beauty of nature.
