Opfer-Denkmal (Victim's Memorial) in Berlin is a poignant tribute to victims of Nazi persecution and terror during World War II. This neo-classical structure stands in the Scheunenviertel district, close to Hackescher Markt, and is composed of two travertine columns connected by a curved wall. The monument evokes feelings of sadness and reflection, as it eternally speaks of the senseless loss of life that occurred here during the turbulent 1930s and 40s. It serves as a reminder of the atrocities that occurred, and a lesson to ensure such bloodshed never occurs again.
