Noto Cathedral - From Via Rinaldo Montuoro, Italy
The Noto Cathedral in Noto, Italy is an impressive Baroque-style church located at the very center of the city. It was designed by architect Rosario Gagliardi and built between 1703 and 1776. The façade is decorated with a variety of statues and bas-reliefs, with elaborate carvings of figures. The interior of the cathedral also features stunning gilded woodwork as well as details of marble and stucco. Inside, visitors can also view a painting of the Madonna and Child by celebrated local artist Antonello Gagini. The cathedral is home to several religious artifacts and relics, some of which are kept in the crypt. Thanks to its beautiful design, it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002.
