Naturschutzgebiet Raakmoor - From Lake, Germany
Naturschutzgebiet Raakmoor is a nature reserve located in northern Germany, close to the city of Hamburg. This 115 hectare protected area is part of a much larger nature complex, and is the last remaining section of a lowland raised bog and moor embraced by grasslands and wooded pastures. Here visitors can enjoy marked routes and observation points with galleries and lookouts, offering magnificent views of the meadows, forests, and wetlands. The most noticeable thing though, is the big lake which is home to numerous wading birds, ducks, and geese. The area is also a great place to find common species among the wide variety of flowers like unusual orchids, unique lichens, and the shaggy hairy grasshopper. Hikers and birdwatchers are able to spot wildlife, especially during the summer.
