Located in in the center of Valladolid, Monumento del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús is a towering sculpture, dedicated to the sacred heart of Jesus. The sculpture is made of red bricks and stands at an impressive height of 25 meters (82 feet). Each side of its octagonal base represents one of the cardinal Virtues or Gifts (Humility, Charity, Faith, Patience, Temperance, Hope, Justice and Prudence). The monument is highly visible, both during the day and at night, when it is beautifully illuminated by spotlights. Devotees and tourists alike can be seen visiting the monument out of appreciation for its cultural significance. A great spot to take a photo from is the nearby bridge, from which visitors can get a full view of the monument.
