Kirche St. Laurenzen in St. Gallen, Switzerland is a magnificent baroque church located in the center of the city. It was constructed between the years 1614 and 1658 and designed by an unknown architect. The exterior facade is light-coloured sandstone with intense detailing, including an impressive gilded altarpiece and 14 statues of saints in plastered stone covering the facade. Inside, visitors are greeted by an impressive 17th century painted ceiling. This church was declared a historical monument in 2010, and has since undergone extensive renovations that restored its original beauty. A visit to this church reveals the religious history of the city and the intricate detail of its interior. It is a truly beautiful and awe-inspiring sight.
