The Harbour Bridge in Milsons Point, Australia, is an iconic structure with a huge 7,162 ft (2,179 m) arch spanning the magnificent Sydney Harbour. It is often referred to as the 'Coathanger' due to its distinctive shape, and serves as a popular landmark for travelers, photographers and locals alike. This engineering marvel is also one of Australia's most recognised symbols, and celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2012. The bridge has pedestrian footpaths on either side, which offer stunning views of the harbour, the city skyline and the Royal Botanical Gardens. There are also many restaurants and bars with waterfront views for visitors to enjoy before or after admiring the bridge. The pylons, arches and cables of the Harbour Bridge add great interest and texture to any photographs taken of this historic site.
