Chicago's Ping Tom Memorial Park is an urban oasis located on Chicago's historic south side in Chinatown. The park is located along the south branch of the Chicago River which provides stunning views of the iconic Chicago skyline.The park encompasses just under 5 acres and is located on the east bank of the river's south branch, giving it an impressive view of the downtown area. Visitors to the park can enjoy a large playground, walking trails, boat rentals and seasonal programming. There is also a statue of local businessman and philanthropist, Ping Tom, that stands 8 feet tall. The park is one of the most popular spots along the riverwalk to view the skyline, as well as one of the most easily accessed as it is serviced by multiple bus lines. Visitors can also join the tour boat at the boat launch within the park, and experience a unique view of some of the city's most famous landmarks.
